There’s A Cause To Fight For

Have we become a Christian generation were we are too scared to offend others that we need to sugar coat God’s word or forget to mention certain parts of the bible?
Have we become Christians who are trying to change our methods of doing things in the church to be more worldly as a tactic of trying to win souls?
Why have we started to remove the teachings of the cross (and even the symbol of the cross) out of Christianity and stopped preaching on the reality of Hell?
Why do we feel the need of entertainment in the church, is the joy of the Lord not good enough for us any more?
These are all big questions…
Some years back we had many great men of God behind the pulpit, Leonard Ravenhill, A.W Tozer, Charles Spurgeon and David Wilkerson are some. These great men and their churches turned the world upside down by preaching sermons that we rarely hear today…
Sadly if these kind of men stood up and preached today the majority of churches wouldn’t invite them back because their messages were so convicting. It is these kind of sermons we need in our broken world today, great men who honour God with a good knowledge of the bible who will share sermons which will cause us to feel convicted in order to change us. Inspirational messages which only long to make us feel good wont change us come next week most of last Sunday’s sermon will have been forgotten.
Some teach that if we say one prayer we are saved which allows us to go and do whatever we please with our lives without honouring God. If that were true then we would not even need to resist our temptations, it would allow us to indulge in sin whenever we please. When we are in a relationship with Christ we must make time for him and do our very best to serve him the way he has told us in the bible. God expects full custody from us daily (Sunday morning is not enough), this is the only way we will grow spiritually mature with God.
The churches that are usually laughed at, or mocked by ‘so called Christians’ are often the churches who speak and stand on the foundations of the bible, without putting a twist on scripture just to make us feel good. We point the finger and say that these kind of church’s methods are ‘old school’ when this is not true… God’s word and methods have never changed and never will. This is happening because we are more concerned about making ourselves more comfortable in the church instead of how God wants the church. We should remind ourselves that a place of worship is not about us but about God alone.
We blame our governments for the state our nations are in… Our nations are in a mess because Christians wont stand up and fight for what is right, or too scared to do so. We must take a stand and not be ashamed, instead of being silent letting these governments with wicked agendas walk all over us until eventually they will take away our rights to speak up for God and biblical truth.
When Jesus was on the earth, he made it very clear to people who were living in sin that they needed to change their ways, he also went around healing people and casting out demons… Everybody hated him because he spoke up for what was right and he was not afraid to do so.
Jesus was also not concerned about crowds of people, but only those who were committed to him by taking up their cross daily.
It is important that out of love we tell people the biblical truth and not a watered down message that wont have any effect, we have to take things seriously before its too late. I saw a great quote a few weeks ago that said “I’d rather offend someone into Heaven than flatter them into Hell.” this quote is very true!
“We used to have a lot of negative preaching and a lot of positive living now we have a lot of positive preaching and a lot of negative living” – Donnie Swaggart
Pray that we are able to seek God and biblical truth and not look to change the word of the Lord just to satisfy people because this is dangerous and an offence to the cross. We must make the time to read our own bibles and not just listen to what people tell us, we need to make sure we understand God’s word for ourselves.
As true Christians we have a cause to fight for, lets speak up for truth and not back down.

Great article! We need more preachers getting behind the pulpit saying thus saith the Lord. Telling people they are champions and we are all saved regardless of what you believe is dangerous. Everything needs to line up with scripture. I am thankful our Lord gave us His Word to make our crooked paths straight!
Thanks for stopping by Gianna!
Yes, we need more preachers like Donnie and Paul Washer today. You are correct that everything must line up with scripture.
Well said, preach on Phil. The world needs to hear more Christians who are passionate about the Lord Jesus, His Kingdom and the lost. Jesus said,” As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” Stay passionate and obedient to His calling, keep sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thank you Pam, great to hear from you.
I will keep sharing the word the way the bible tells us to do so.
