Using Your Gifts For God’s Glory

Date Written…

Everyone has been given a gift that God has blessed them with, it could be a spiritual gift or a gifted talent or skill. How we choose to use those gifts is our choice and responsibility. What is your gift and are you using those God given gifts to glorify God?

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” – Romans 12:6

Identifying Your Gifts

Sometimes it might seem difficult to identify your gift, or maybe you struggle with the feeling you have no talent, well thats not true, everyone is good at something! Maybe you have not discovered what you are passionate about just yet, some people don’t identify their gifts until later in life, and thats fine! God’s timing for your life and calling is always perfect.

It is important that once we have identified something we are good and passionate about, that we use those talents to glorify God and spread his message.

Pray For Guidance

Maybe you’ve identified your gifts, but now you are struggling to find inspiration on how to use those gifts to honour God. We can hadle these situations through regular prayer, ask God to show and reveal to you how he want’s you to use your gifts for His glory.

Being an artist and blogger myself, I pray for God to reveal and guide me on what I should draw and the topics I should write about. This is important, because I want God to use me, my artwork and writings to spread His message.

Perseverance

There will be times when the devil tries to knock our confidence or steer us in the wrong direction. We must stay bold for Christ, not letting negativity disrupt our confidence which can affect the way we use our gifts, or even cause us to use our passions and talents for the wrong purpose.

We must persevere, not sitting on our gifts while procrastinating because our talents won’t grow if we are inactive.

Study Scripture Often

Our most important duty as a Christian is to study our bibles often. By staying rooted in Gods word, not only do we grow spiritually, but we will use our gifts in the most truthful and affective way, aligning to the sciptures and word of God.

The Importance Of Sharing Your Gifts

We are given our gifts to spread God’s word, it’s all cool to use our gifts around our Christian brothers and sisters, but one of the most important reasons we have been given our gifts, is to bring lost souls to Christ. Depending on what your gifts are, remember to step out of your comfort zone, and use those gifts to bring non-believers to Christ.

Thank God For Your Gifts

God has graced each and everyone of us with gifts, we should thank him through praise and prayer for the gifts and opportunities He has given us.

If you are struggling with the thought of not knowing what you are supposed to be doing for God’s glory, then I encourage you to pray that God would reveal your calling and inspire you to act on your gifts to further His kingdom. He will always answer your prayers in His timing, our job is to be patient.
